KillFlux Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

KillFlux ("we", "our", or "the app") is an Android application that helps users manage and terminate background applications using the Shizuku privileged API.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using KillFlux, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information
• We do not collect the specific apps you kill — only the count per day (stored locally)
• We do not collect your whitelist entries or the names of apps in your whitelist
• We do not collect your scheduler rules or automation settings
• We do not store or transmit any data processed by Shizuku
• We do not process in-app purchases — KillFlux is free and ad-supported
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing
• We do not access your contacts, messages, camera, or microphone

4. How We Use Your Information

The limited data we collect is used solely for:

• App improvement — understanding which features are used most
• Crash diagnosis — identifying and fixing bugs
• Ad delivery — serving ads via Google AdMob

5. Third-Party Services

KillFlux uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage analytics
• Google AdMob — advertising (free users only)
• Shizuku — privileged shell API (no data collection)

6. App Permissions Explained

• INTERNET — required for Firebase Analytics and AdMob ads
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — checks connectivity before loading ads
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE — required for the Scheduler service to run in the background
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — required to show the persistent service notification on Android 13+
• ACCESS_WIFI_STATE — required for the Wi-Fi connected scheduler trigger

KillFlux uses Android intent-based package visibility (not QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES) to detect launcher apps. It does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage permissions.

7. Data Storage and Security

All user preferences (whitelist, scheduler rules, settings) are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. Kill history statistics are stored locally using an SQLite database. Neither of these ever leaves your device.

On first launch, KillFlux displays an onboarding screen where you must agree to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use before using the app.

We have disabled Android's backup feature (android:allowBackup="false") to prevent your app settings from being included in device backups.

8. Children's Privacy

KillFlux is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is minimal personal data to request or delete. However, you have the right to:

• Opt out of personalised ads via Android device settings
• Reset your advertising ID in Google Settings
• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored preferences
• Contact us with any privacy-related requests or questions

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
