Short version: KillFlux does not sell your data. We collect minimal anonymous analytics to improve the app, and show ads via Google AdMob. All app-killing operations happen entirely on your device.
KillFlux ("we", "our", or "the app") is an Android application that helps users manage and terminate background applications using the Shizuku privileged API.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using KillFlux, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data including: app opens, feature usage frequency, crash reports, and device type/OS version. This data does not contain any personally identifiable information.
Free users see ads served by Google AdMob, including banner and interstitial ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalised ads via your device settings: Google Settings โ Ads โ Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
KillFlux stores a local history of your app-killing activity (date and number of apps killed per day) in a database on your device. This data is used to display the Kill History screen and usage statistics within the app. It is never transmitted to any server and remains entirely on your device.
KillFlux uses the Shizuku API to execute shell commands (such as am force-stop) on your device. These commands run entirely locally on your device. No shell output or command history is transmitted to our servers.
The limited data we collect is used solely for:
KillFlux uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
KillFlux uses Android intent-based package visibility (not QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES) to detect launcher apps. It does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage permissions.
All user preferences (whitelist, scheduler rules, settings) are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. Kill history statistics are stored locally using an SQLite database. Neither of these ever leaves your device.
On first launch, KillFlux displays an onboarding screen where you must agree to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use before using the app.
We have disabled Android's backup feature (android:allowBackup="false") to prevent your app settings from being included in device backups.
KillFlux is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is minimal personal data to request or delete. However, you have the right to:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
